Where answers place this brand among all the brands they name, counted from 1. The figure is the mean over the answers that name it, shown with that count of answers. Lower is better.

How it is computed

  • In each answer, the brands take places in the order the answer first names them, from 1. The brand that the answer names first takes place 1.
  • Every brand that the answer names takes a place: this brand, the monitored competitors and the detected brands. An ignored brand takes no place.
  • Some mentions have no located place in the text. Such a mention stays out of position. It still counts for Visibility and Share of Voice.
  • Position is the mean place over the answers that name this brand at a located place. It always shows with that count of answers, so you can tell a mean of 3 answers from a mean of 300.
  • Lower is better. A fall in position is an improvement, and the dashboard shows it as one.
  • The places come from the stored text of each answer, not from a model’s judgement. FullReach AI computes them from the stored answers, so the history is complete from the first day of the project.
  • The answers are the same analyzed successful answers as every other metric, in the same scope and window as Visibility.

An example

This brand is named in 18 answers. In 10 of them it is named first, in 5 second, and in 3 fourth. The sum of its places is 10 × 1 + 5 × 2 + 3 × 4 = 32. The tile shows #1.8 · 18 answers.

Position is not the rank

The Competitors page ranks the brands by visibility, and its Rank tile shows this brand’s place in that list. Position is a place inside each answer. A brand that few answers name can still lead every list it appears in.
