# Sources

> The websites the AI answers cite, how often, and where this brand's own site and its rivals' sites rank among them.

A citation is one page that one answer cites as a source. The Sources page counts the citations in the scope and groups them by domain. It shows who supplies the answers in this brand's category.

## The answer at the top

The page asks whether this brand's website is among the sites that the answers cite. It answers yes when the site has at least one citation, with its rank. When the brand has no website on record, it says so.

## Cited domains

A domain is a site's registrable name: `blog.example.co.uk` and `www.example.co.uk` are both `example.co.uk`.

| Column         | What it counts                                                                                    |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Citations      | The pages of the domain that the answers cite. An answer that cites three of its pages adds three |
| Share          | The domain's citations, out of every citation in the scope, as a whole percent                    |
| Answers citing | The answers that cite at least one page of the domain                                             |
| Last cited     | The newest day an answer cited it                                                                 |

The table lists the top 50 domains by citations. A domain opens its top 20 pages and the latest answers that cite it. **Export CSV** saves one line per page.

## Your market's own sites

Each monitored brand's own website, this brand's included, with its citations and its rank among every domain cited in the scope. The rank orders the domains by citations. A tie orders by name. A brand without a website shows "no website".

When losing answers cite a rival's site often enough, the [Actions](/reference/actions) page lists it as a Rival's site Action.

**Citations by platform** splits the citations per platform. Some platforms cite more than others, so read a domain's share per platform too.
