# Searches

> The web searches an assistant ran before it answered this brand's prompts.

Before it answers, an assistant often searches the web. One prompt becomes one or more searches, in the assistant's own words. The answer usually cites pages that those searches returned.

The Searches page lists the searches the assistants ran for this brand's prompts. The same wording counts as one search, whatever its case.

## Which platforms report them

The [Platforms](/reference/platforms) page marks the platforms that report the searches they ran. The others do not report theirs. With the platform filter on one of them, the Searches page says so, and an answer from one of them says so in its own view.

An answer from a platform that reports its searches can run no search at all. Its view then says "No search ran". That is a measurement, not a missing one.

## What each row shows

| Column        | What it counts                                 |

| Search        | The wording the assistant used                 |
| Times         | How many times the assistants ran that wording |
| Share         | That count, out of every search in scope       |
| Answers       | How many answers ran it                        |
| Last searched | The newest day it ran                          |

Three marks sit under the wording:

* **A brand name** means the wording names a monitored brand. A name matches by the same spelling rule as in the answers, so "Peec.ai" and "peec-ai" are one name. This brand's name is marked in colour.
* **only** and a site means the search was held to one website with `site:`.
* **repeats the prompt** means the assistant searched the prompt word for word.

A row opens onto the prompts behind the search, each with its market, and the latest answers that ran it.

## Scope and window

The page takes every dashboard filter. It counts analysed answers in the window, as every other page does.
