# Insights

> Every monitored brand side by side, under every platform and every topic: the trend, the recommendations, the matrix, the breakdown and the leaders.

Insights compares this brand with every monitored competitor. The [Overview](/reference/overview) shows how this brand does. Insights shows where it leads and where it does not, by platform and by topic.

## The answer at the top

The page asks how this brand ranks in the AI answers. The answer states its place by [visibility](/reference/metrics/visibility) among the monitored brands. The line under it names the topics that this brand leads or misses, and the platforms that name it most and least.

## What the page compares

Insights is the comparison, so it shows every platform, every topic and every brand at once. Its toolbar offers the market and the range only. See [Filters](/reference/filters#where-each-filter-applies).

A branded filter that another page set still applies here. The toolbar then shows it, and one press removes it.

## The tiles

The first four tiles are the Overview's: [Visibility](/reference/metrics/visibility), [Share of Voice](/reference/metrics/share-of-voice), [Sentiment](/reference/metrics/sentiment) and [Recommended](/reference/metrics/recommendation). Two more name the platform that names this brand most often, and the platform that names it least often, each with its visibility.

## Brand insights

* **The chart** draws one metric per day for this brand and its competitors: visibility, Share of Voice or sentiment. It is the chart of the Overview. See [The trend](/reference/overview#the-trend).
* **Recommendation** shows one bar per brand. The bar splits the brand's labeled mentions between recommended, neutral and advised against. Neutral means that the answer names the brand without a recommendation. A brand with no mention to classify shows a dash.

## Performance matrix

The matrix puts one metric in a grid. **Dimensions** picks the grid, and **Metric** picks the figure.

| Dimensions | What each cell shows |
| - | - |
| Brands × Platforms | One brand on one platform |
| Brands × Topics | One brand in the answers to one topic's prompts |
| Topics × Platforms | This brand alone, in one topic on one platform |

The metrics are Visibility, Share of Voice, Sentiment and Recommended. Topics × Platforms shows Visibility only, because it counts this brand alone.

A dash is a cell with nothing to measure. Hover over it for the reason: no analyzed answer there, no answer that names a monitored brand, or no mention to classify. A dash is never 0%.

The three dots on the card export the grid as CSV, save it as an image, or copy it as text.

## Breakdown

The breakdown splits the period by market, by persona or by topic. It shows when the project has more than one market, or at least one persona or topic. **Break down by** picks the split.

| Column | What it counts |
| - | - |
| Prompts | The active prompts in the row, under the same filters as its answers |
| Visibility | Answers that name this brand, out of the row's analyzed answers, as a whole percent |
| Names a brand | Answers that name this brand or any monitored competitor, out of the same answers |
| Answers | The row's analyzed answers |
| Last collected | The newest day with an answer |

"Names a brand" tells two low visibilities apart. When few answers name any brand, nobody wins the question yet. When most name a brand but not this one, the rivals win it. A row with no analyzed answer shows a dash, never 0%. [Markets and languages](/reference/markets-and-languages#reading-markets-side-by-side) says how to read two markets side by side.

## Leaders

Leaders ranks the brands within each platform, or within each topic. **Ranked within** picks which, and **Metric** picks the figure. The first column holds the brand with the highest figure there. A dash marks a brand that no answer named there. A platform or a topic with no analyzed answer has no row.

## Where it appears

| Surface | Form |
| - | - |
| The Insights page | The comparison above |
| [Competitors](/reference/competitors) | The monitored brands as one table, and the brands nobody monitors yet |
| CSV export | The matrix, the breakdown and the leaders, one file each |
